ProstaSol ™ is produced in the Netherlands as a dietary supplement in accordance with international regulations for the manufacture of pharmaceuticals.
ProstaSol ™ contains the following components:
LinumLife (lignans from linseed), Regrestrol (various sitosterols), Biocurcumin BCM-95 (highly bioavailable curcuminoids), as well as extracts from the saw palmetto (Serenoa repens), ginseng, (Panax ginseng), the African plum tree (Pygeum africanum), the rice mushroom (Ganoderma Lucidum) and the Japanese knotweed (Polygonum cuspidatum), which is considered the best natural source of resveratrol and quercetin.
The individual ingredients are as follows:
LinumLife (linseed from linseed)
LinumLife is a standardized extract from linseed with a high concentration of so-called lignans – phytochemicals with phytoestrogenic effects (LinumLife – EFSA 2079 ID KOM 51980 -).
Regrestol (sitosterol mixture)
The Regrestrol complex contains four different sterols, namely beta-sitosterol, camposterol, stigmasterol and brassicasterol. Sterols and sterolines are actually vegetable fats that are found in quite high concentrations in many nuts and seeds.
Biocurcumin BCM95 is a patented extract from the goldenseal, which has a variety of biological effects. Positive effects have also been described. In contrast to normal turmeric extract, biocurcumin BCM95 has an extremely good bioavailability (about 7 x higher). This means that with the oral intake of only 250 mg of biocurcumin BCM95, the same effect is achieved, which would otherwise require around 1500 mg of normal turmeric extract or around 37500 mg of simple curcumin powder.
The Biocurcumin BCM95® is characterized by the following features:
100% natural extract from turmeric (Curcuma longa) without artificial addition much smaller doses achieve the same effect as high doses of conventional curcumin extracts.
Saw Palmetto (Serenoa Repens)
The effect of the lipophilic extract of the saw palmetto fruit (Saw palmetto or Serenoa repens) has long been known. In comparison to the usual synthetic agents with the active ingredient finasteride, saw palmetto has at least the same effect with fewer side effects, is better tolerated and is also cheaper.
The effects of the active ingredients in ginseng, ginsenoside and saponin, have only recently been known in Europe, although the effects of the ginseng root have been used for centuries, especially in China and other Asian countries.
African plum tree (Pygeum africanum, Prunus africana)
Pygeum extract is obtained from the bark of a plum tree native to Africa. This extract has been used successfully since the 1960s. No side effects of Pygeum have been found.
REISHI (Ganoderma lucidum)
Reishi mushrooms have been used in Chinese naturopathy for over 4000 years. The components contained in the fruiting body of the mushroom, e.g. Triterpenoids, manitol, coumarin, various polysaccharides and sterols are used. The mushrooms also contain various trace elements such as manganese, zinc, copper, iron, calcium and also germanium.
Japanese Knotweed (Polygonum cuspidatum)
The Japanese knotweed (Polygonum cuspidatum) is one of the best natural sources for the famous “Resveratrol”, a phytoalexin , which belongs to the polyphenols.
Quercetin is also extracted from Polygonum cuspidatum as a so-called phytochemical (flavonoid).
