Preventing breast cancer – 5 simple measures

More and more women in industrialized countries are suffering from breast cancer. Unfortunately, about one in 80 women aged between 50 and 69 even dies from it. Prevention is particularly important for breast cancer. In addition to regular self-examination, visits to the gynecologist and mammography, a healthy lifestyle and reducing stress play an important role in preventing breast cancer. The supply of important vitamins, minerals and secondary plant substances can help to prevent the development of breast cancer. We present 5 proven measures for breast cancer prevention.

Preventing breast cancer – a question of age?

Age plays an important role in breast cancer. About one in two hundred 50-year-olds develops breast cancer. Among 80-year-olds, it is already one in ten women. However, cancer can be actively prevented at an early age.

However, women can prevent breast cancer if they pay attention to the following points.

  1. Preventive medical check-up
  2. Self-examination
  3. Movement
  4. Lifestyle
  5. Nutrition

Preventive medical check-up

Early detection is particularly important in the prevention of cancer. A breast cancer tumor takes around 5 to 15 years to grow to a size of two centimetres. Preliminary stages of breast cancer are often already recognizable between the ages of 45 and 65. These can be seen in the mammogram from a size of around 5 millimeters. This is why women over the age of 40 should undergo regular breast screening at least once a year.

Self-examination

Women should regularly feel their own breasts for lumps. The best time for this is about a week after the start of your period. Then the breast is relatively soft. Women after the menopause are best advised to set a fixed date in their calendar so that they don’t forget to have a scan.

Movement

A healthy lifestyle with at least 50 to 150 minutes of exercise per week is said to be able to prevent breast cancer. This is also recommended by the WHO. But it doesn’t have to be a sweat-inducing workout. Exercise in the fresh air is particularly healthy.

Lifestyle

People who do not smoke and only drink alcohol in moderation significantly reduce their risk of breast cancer.

Nutrition

Diet is said to have a decisive influence on the risk of breast cancer. There are some studies that show that certain vitamins and nutrients minimize the risk of breast cancer. This can have a positive effect:

  • at least two liters of ionized water
  • few dairy products and other animal products
  • Low intake of saturated fatty acids
  • Avoidance of excess weight

Breast cancer prevention through dietary supplements?

Due to long transport routes and industrialization, our food no longer contains as many vitamins and minerals as it originally did. However, an accelerated lifestyle with stress and increased pollutants in the environment require more and more measures to maintain our health and performance into old age. Many doctors and therapists therefore recommend high-quality nutritional supplements such as those from medpro. The specialized nutritional supplements for women is an important component of preventive healthcare. Developed and empirically tested by doctors, medpro preparations contain the optimum combination of plant and micronutrients. Many of them can be used specifically for breast cancer prevention, for example, after consultation with a doctor.

  • Indole-3-carbinol with valuable plant extracts and vitamin B12 supports the maintenance of healthy cell structures, particularly through antioxidants. Resveratrol, extracted from Japanese knotweed, acts as an important free radical scavenger, while vitamin B12 plays an important role in the formation of red blood cells and also in the health of neurological functions.
  • Artemisinin from medpro contains artemisinin, for example, which is obtained from sequiterpenes of annual mugwort. This valuable secondary plant substance is still used today in TCM and traditional medicine. Artemisinin is a bioactive substance that even earned its discoverers a Nobel Prize as an anti-malaria drug in 2022. In some studies with cell cultures, but also with animals, it was found that artemisinin can help prevent the growth of some types of cancer, including breast and prostate cancer.
  • Imusan from medpro is a combination preparation with extracts of Asian and European medicinal plants. These include NPE® green tea extract, which is considered a powerful antioxidant and is said to protect cells from premature ageing. Research on cell cultures, animals and humans has shown that green tea extract can help prevent the development of cancer. It also contains, for example, round-leaved wintergreen extract, reishi extract, extracts from the pink spider lily, agrimony, bee pollen powder and much more. These ingredients are said to help prevent cancer, especially breast cancer.
  • CURCUMIN combiTM also contains resveratrol from Japanese knotweed and curcumin. The main active ingredient in turmeric is considered to be particularly anti-inflammatory and antioxidant and is repeatedly associated with cancer prevention and treatment.

The proven food supplements from medpro consist of pure plant substances and can be used as phytohormones. They are therefore also suitable for breast cancer patients. Find out now about medpro’s high-quality nutritional supplements and actively prevent breast cancer!
